This letter refers to the news report ‘‘Monsoon brides’: extreme weather fuels child marriages in Pakistan’ (August 17, 2024). The report mentions the case of two sisters from Dadu, Sindh who were married off before they reached the legal age in exchange for money. Are we going to enforce the laws of the land or just ignore cases like this?
