LAHORE : Kahna police have arrested a man for murdering his father.
Victim Nadeem and his son Shahzad were going by a car on Ring Road when suspect Shahzad allegedly shot dead his father and manipulated the crime as a robbery.
When police started investigations, it turned out that Shahzad had taken money worth Rs2.8 million from his father to invest in an online business and gave it to another person identified as Safdar.
His father was demanding the money back. Suspect Safdar incited Shahzad to murder his father so that he could not demand the money back, said SP Investigations Ayyaz Hussain in a press conference. He said suspect Safdar was on the run. They were conducting raids to arrest him.
He also shared details about solving the murder of a youth Zeeshan in Kahna for honour and busting a gang of fraudsters in Metro Cash and Carry Link Road Model Town.
Two injured in roof collapse incident
Two persons were injured in an incident of roof collapse near Queen Chowk on Waris Road on Saturday.
Reportedly, the victims were inside the house when the building collapsed all of a sudden. As a result, the victims were trapped under the debris.
Nearby people called rescue teams who, removed the debris and evacuated the victim.
The injured victims were identified as Rozina Faris 36 and Faris Waris 35.
House retrieved, handed over to owner
Barki Police retrieved a house from squatters and handed over it to its original owner.
Reportedly, Waqas, Ali Raza and Shafique had illegally grabbed the house by forging documents and occupied it for four years. The original owner approached Cantonment SP who after investigation ordered police to retrieve the house and handed it over to owner Khalat Bari. The owner paid gratitude to the SP.
4,839 anti-social elements held in eight months
The Lahore Police arrested 4,839 anti-social elements of 2,110 gangs this year.
The police have recovered over Rs 3.18 billion from the accused.
In a statement, the Lahore Police spokesperson said in various operations authorities have seized 283 cars, 6,646 motorcycles and 345 other vehicles from the suspects. The police arrested 3,244 Category A Proclaimed Offenders(POs), 13,007 Category B POs, 19,404 Court Absconders and 7,369 individuals with previous criminal records. In a statement, CCPO Bilal Siddique Kamyana said intelligence-based operations against gangsters involved in robbery, theft and fraud cases was underway.
4 held for Hawala, Hundi transactions
Corporate Crime Circle of FIA Lahore arrested four suspects from DHA Phase-4 for their involvement in Hawala and Hundi transactions on Saturday.
According to an FIA Lahore spokesperson, the authorities seized local and foreign currencies worth Rs 45 million from accused M Tahir, Usman Ali, Usman Majeed, and Khurram Shehzad.
Further investigations are underway against the accused. FIA Director Lahore Zone, Sarfraz Khan Virk said no leniency will be shown towards those involved in such activities.
