KARACHI: Master Changan Motors Limited (MCML) introduced its electric vehicle (EV) brand, Deepal, along with two models, the L07 sedan and S07 SUV, in Karachi on Friday. This joint venture between Master Group of Industries and Changan International aims to contribute to Pakistan’s transition to a greener future.
The Deepal models boast impressive features, including a long-range battery, Italian design, and advanced technology. Powered by CATL’s ternary lithium battery, the L07 offers a range of up to 540 kilometres, while the S07 provides 485 kilometres on a single charge.
MCML emphasized the potential of EVs to address Pakistan’s economic challenges, particularly the heavy reliance on imported oil. By promoting electric vehicles and expanding charging infrastructure, the company aims to reduce the country’s import bill and improve its economic conditions.
To facilitate mass EV adoption, MCML plans to expand the charging network from five to seventeen cities and introduce additional EV models in the coming years. The company is also addressing concerns about after-sales service by establishing a nationwide support network.
With the launch of Deepal, Master Changan Motors is taking a significant step towards shaping Pakistan’s automotive landscape and promoting sustainable transportation.
