Shaheens, Bangladesh A series begins today

LAHORE: Pakistan Shaheens and Bangladesh A are set to clash in a series of two four-day matches at the Islamabad Club. The series, commencing on Tuesday (today), holds immense significance for both teams as they prepare for the upcoming ICC World Test Championship.

With several players from both squads included in their respective Test squads, the series offers a valuable opportunity for players to showcase their skills and secure their places in the national team. Saud Shakeel, recently appointed Pakistan’s Test vice-captain, will lead the Shaheens, while Anamul Haque will captain the Bangladesh A side.

The Shaheens have been diligently preparing under head coach Umar Gul, aiming to build on their previous performances. The series against Bangladesh A will be a stern test of their mettle, especially considering the strong batting lineup of the visitors.

Bangladesh A, on the other hand, will be looking to gain valuable match practice in subcontinental conditions. The presence of experienced players like Mahmudul Hasan Joy and Mushfiqur Rahim adds depth to their squad.
