LAHORE: Pakistan Shaheens made a strong start to their Top End T20 series campaign, defeating Perth Scorchers by 17 runs in a thrilling encounter at the DXC Arena on Saturday.
Usman Khan was the star of the show for the Shaheens, blasting a rapid-fire 57 off just 35 balls to propel his team to a competitive total of 188-7. Mohammad Haris (25) and Arafat Minhas (31) also contributed valuable runs.
In reply, the Scorchers were off to a shaky start, losing early wickets. Corey Wasley (54) and Baxter Holt (24) tried to stage a recovery but their efforts fell short as the Shaheens' bowling attack, led by Mohammad Abbas Afridi (2-32) and Jahandad Khan (2-42), proved too strong.
