ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court has sought the details of facilities provided to PTI founder Imran Khan in Adiala jail by August 22.
The PTI founder’s lawyer said he does not have the facility of refrigerator and food spoils. Chief Justice Amir Farooq remarked, “Let the answer come, I will not install the fridge like this?”
IHC Chief Justice Aamir Farooq heard the request of PTI founder to provide facilities in Adiala jail in accordance with international agreements and jail rules. The court said that the prison authorities should tell what the ground facts were and what facilities were being provided to him.
Petitioner Azhar Siddique Advocate said the PTI founder was not allowed to talk to his sons through WhatsApp. He argued that the PTI founder said that there was no refrigerator facility for him in the jail and food spoils. The chief justice remarked, “First we ask the Adiala jail authorities about the facilities as they are more relevant. Let the answer come, let things be clear and then see. I’m not going to install a fridge like this?”
The court directed the jail authorities to submit a report on facilities available in the jail to PTI founder and provide a copy to the petitioner. The court adjourned the hearing until August 22.
