ISLAMABAD: As per the plan to dissolve Pak PWD, the Ministry of Housing and Construction has approved a plan to transfer all the inquiries to departments concerned along with the staff of PWD.
The approval was given in a meeting presided over by Dr. Shehzad Khan Bangash. It was decided that all maintenance work along with staff of Islamabad-based PWD, like Prime Minister Office, Supreme Court of Pakistan, Islamabad High Court, Election Commission of Pakistan and State Bank Building etc, will be transferred to the CDA. It was decided that the work of maintenance of government residences in Lahore, Karachi, Quetta and Peshawar along with budget and staff will be transferred to the Estate Office. All other inquiries will be transferred to departments concerned. The Pak PWD DG gave a detailed briefing to the meeting about the maintenance works and staff. He suggested that stakeholders should be taken into confidence for the smooth completion of the transfer of inquiries. It decided to call a meeting of representatives of ministries and divisions concerned for the inquiries of PWD along with staff and budget transfer. The PWD was directed to complete the work of inquiries and staff mapping.
