Balochistan faces severe water scarcity, which affects agriculture, industry, and the drinking water supply. Dams can provide a reliable solution to this problem by storing water for irrigation, drinking, and industrial purposes. They can also generate hydroelectric power, reducing the province’s reliance on non-renewable energy sources, along with controlling flooding, preventing soil erosion, and creating recreational opportunities.
I urge the relevant authorities to prioritize the construction of dams in Balochistan, particularly in areas where water scarcity is most acute. This investment will have a lasting impact on the province’s economic development and environmental sustainability and the quality of life of its residents.
