Rawalpindi: The residents of Arya Mohallah, one of the congested areas of the city, have been facing acute water shortage for the last six days and have bemoaned the apathy of the authorities concerned in this regard, say a press release.
The most affected are the housewives of the locality, who have to wait for the entire day to carry out their daily chores. However, despite having a schedule of water supply thrice a day, the water never comes in the area and the women can’t even get water to cook food.
The most affected streets of the locality include Street 16 and 17 where water supply has remained suspended for past many days. The residents of the area have time and again lodged complaints with Water and Sanitation Agency (Wasa), but in vain.
The residents of the area have appealed to Wasa to find a durable solution to water shortage of the area. The shortage of water will add to their woes and they will have to no other option but to come on roads and lodge protest against the concerned authority.
