Customer rights

I would like to draw the SBP’s attention to some of the charges applied by many banks upon account closure. They insist on charging customers even when he/she has maintained an account for decades and is trying to close it after severe service degradation at the bank’s end. This is not fair for banking customers.

Sometimes, after closing an account, banks do not remove the customer’s personal data from their database and keep sending them marketing messages. It is hoped that the SBP will address these practices from both consumer protection and data privacy perspectives.
