The pensions of government employees were raised in the current budget but there was no such help for EOBI pensioners. Are they not Pakistani citizens? Are they not facing horrible inflation? At present, the EOBI pension is grossly inadequate.
I appeal to the prime minister and the finance minister to take notice of this issue and immediately announce at least a 50 per cent increase in EOBI pensions so that we too can breathe a sigh of relief.
