Rs350m released for N Waziristan affectees

MIRANSHAH: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has released a monthly financial aid installment of approximately Rs350 million for the affected people of Operation Zarb-e-Azb in North Waziristan tribal district.


The funds are expected to be received by all registered affectees within the next 24 hours through SMS messaging.PDMA Director Sobia Hassam Turo has clarified that the recently released funds are allocated for monthly cash assistance and ration allowances for about 17,200 families, who have not yet returned to their areas. She further mentioned that the families also included those who had recently returned from the Khost area of Afghanistan.

In response to a query, Sobia stated that PDMA was making every effort to ensure timely disbursement of the monthly financial aid to reduce the financial hardships faced by the affectees.
