ISLAMABAD: Senior leader of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Syed Khurshid Shah expressed his disappointment over the PMLN-led coalition government for keeping the PPP completely out of loop over the upcoming budget and also on talk with the IMF and agreement signed with the China during the visit of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
“We are completely out of loop and don’t know even what kind of the budget government is going to bring, what allocations were made for health and also did not know agreement reached with the IMF,” he said while addressing a Press conference outside the Parliament House on Tuesday.
Syed Khurshid Shah said the government should take the PPP into confidence being the major coalition partner that what kind of the budget the government intends to bring. “The PMLN should come to the PPP and tell us about the conditions of the IMF so that we tell them way out,” he said.
The PPP leader said the PPP is in complete dark on the upcoming budget and don’t know what for the people in the upcoming budget. “But it seems that government’s failures will fall on us,” he said. He suggested that the government should consult with the leadership of the PPP. “In the past, the opposition was taken into confidence, now we are allies, we should have been taken into confidence,” he said.
Khurshid Shah said the PPP has made many sacrifices for the Parliament and even today we say that Parliament and government should continue. “It is the duty of the government to take the allies along,” he said, adding that the PPP thinks for the people.
He said the PPP has been in power before and will come to power in the future with the power of the people. He said the PPP did not want confrontation but want a policy of reconciliation. “The PTI should also play its role in the Parliament and strengthened the Parliament,” he said. In a reply to a question, Khurshid Shah said there is no backdoor communication between PPP and PTI. To another question, he said that currently stuck on the budget and have not thought of joining the cabinet.
