Climate change is a complex phenomenon which is affecting all and sundry across the globe. Pakistan is one among the most affected countries and is currently grappling with a scorching heatwave. This heatwave reminds one of the UN Secretary General Antonio Gutteres statement that the era of global warming is over and global boiling has arrived. Despite the drastic consequences, we continue to fuel climate change by cutting down trees, spreading pollution and emitting the greenhouse gases. Urgent action must be taken to mitigate climate change. There is a need to raise awareness and climate literacy among ordinary people. In fact, tackling climate change must be the first priority of the state.
