Zayn Malik secured top spots in Billboard charts with his fourth studio album

Room Under the Stairs proved to be the beginning of a new era for Zayn Malik, as the former One Direction member reclaimed his top spot in the music charts.

Forbes reported on Wednesday, May 29, that the fourth studio album Malik, 31, released earlier this month, has debuted on several Billboard charts.

Room Under the Stairs has soared to No. 15 on the Billboard 200 this week, marking the Dusk Till Dawn hitmaker’s first top 40 in eight years.

The last time he appeared higher on the Billboard 200 was in 2016 when he dropped his debut solo album Mind of Mine after leaving the iconic boy band featuring Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Liam Payne, and Louis Tomlinson.

The first full-length became an instant fan favourite, nabbing No.1 on the list of the most consumed albums in the U.S.

Between his massive hits, Mind of Mine and Room Under the Stairs, the Night Changes crooner produced two albums, Icarus Falls and Nobody’s Listening.

Neither album secured a spot in the top 40 on the Billboard 200. His sophomore album landed at No. 61, while three years later, Nobody’s Listening managed to climb to No. 44.

Room Under the Stairs opens inside the top 20 on the Billboard 200, per Luminate.
