MIRANSHAH: Unidentified miscreants torched a school for girls in Shakhimar village, Razmak sub-division, in North Waziristan late Monday night.
The police said that miscreants set the school building on fire during the night, reducing its furniture, ceiling and computers to ashes. The fire rapidly spread and engulfed the entire building of the school.
Around 400 girls were getting education at the school. The Golden Arrow Public School had been established with the help of Pakistan Army’s Seventh Division and Shakhimar Welfare Society.
In March this year, unidentified armed men had fired at the school, damaging its solar system. The local people condemned the incident and demanded immediate reconstruction of the school.
It may be recalled that suspected militants had blown up a private school for girls in Shewa tehsil in North Waziristan on May 10.
