Countering climate change

Climate change in Pakistan is caused by greenhouse gas emissions from industry, agriculture, and transportation and deforestation. This raises the risk of catastrophic weather events such as floods, droughts and heatwaves. The consequences include displacement, agricultural loss and infrastructural damage, which worsen poverty and food insecurity.

To address these challenges, Pakistan must invest in renewable energy, forestry, sustainable agriculture, strengthen environmental regulations and raise public awareness about climate change.
