LAHORE: A mixed trend in official rates for perishable items has recorded this week as prices of a number of vegetables have increased; for some items they remain unchanged and for some they have been reduced.
However, this trend did not impact rates for consumers who are compelled to pay higher rates than that of official rates in the absence of the authorities concerned who are supposed to monitor the prices.
Unfortunately, consumers are not benefiting from reduced prices of fruits and vegetables because the district administration has failed to implement official rates of commodities. Reduction in poultry price persisted in the rate lists only. But, likewise other perishable, the poultry rate lists were not observed as well. The chicken meat sellers refused to sell at the official rates.
This week price of chicken was further reduced by Rs34 per kg, fixed at Rs250-260 per kg, sold at Rs300-330 per kg, and chicken meat by Rs51 per kg, fixed Rs377 per kg, and sold Rs390-800 per kg.
The price of potato soft skin unchanged at Rs70-75 per kg, sold at Rs120 per kg, B-grade fixed at Rs60-65 per kg, and C-grade at Rs50-55 per kilogram, mixed sold at Rs80-100 per kg.
The price of onion A-grade gained by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs80–83 per kg, sold at Rs100-125 per kg, B-grade at Rs70-73 per kg, and C-grade fixed at Rs62-65 per kg, sold at mixed sold at Rs80 per kg.
The price of tomato A-grade further reduced by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs37-40 per kg, sold at Rs80 per kg, B-grade fixed at Rs30-33 per kg, and C-grade at Rs23-25 per kg, mixed sold at Rs50-60 per kg.
The price of garlic local was gained by Rs20 per kg, fixed at Rs245-255 per kg, sold at Rs300 per kg, and Garlic China fixed at Rs620-640 per kg, sold at Rs800-1000 per kg, Garlic Harnai reduced by Rs85 per kg, fixed at Rs280-290 per kg, sold at Rs400-500 kg.
The price of Ginger Thai increased by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs540-560 per kg, and Ginger Chinese unchanged at Rs525-545 per kg, both sold at Rs600-700 per kg. Cucumber Farm gained by Rs3 per kg, fixed at Rs42-45 per kg, sold at Rs60-80 per kg, and cucumber local unchanged at Rs57-60 per kg, sold at Rs100-120 kg.
Brinjal price was reduced by Rs2 per kg, fixed Rs45-48 per kg, sold at Rs80-100 per kg. Biter gourd further declined by Rs15 per kg, fixed at Rs47-50 per kg, sold at Rs80-100 per kg.
The price Spinach farm gained by Rs3 per kg, fixed at Rs33-35 at Rs60-80 per kg.
Zucchini local was gained by Rs15 per kg, fixed at Rs100-105 per kg, sold at Rs140-160 per kg, Zucchini farm by Rs25 per kg, fixed at Rs67-70 per kg, sold at Rs100-120 per kg, and Zucchini long by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs57-60 per kg, sold at Rs80-100 per kg. The lemon local reduced by Rs80 per kg, fixed at Rs480-495 per kg, sold at Rs600-800 per kg.
Pumpkin was reduced by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs57-60 per kg, sold at Rs80-120 per kg.
Green chili price A-grade declined by Rs30 per kg, fixed at Rs62-65 per kg, sold at Rs160 per kg, B-grade fixed at Rs42-45 per kg, sold at Rs80-120 per kg.
Capsicum price was further gained by Rs15 per kg, fixed at Rs85-90 per kg, sold at Rs120-140 per kg.
Price of cauliflower was further reduced by Rs20 per kg, fixed at Rs72-75 per kg, sold at Rs120-140 per kg, cabbage fixed at Rs30-33 per kg, sold Rs80-100 per kg. Carrot Chinese gained by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs52-55 per kg, sold at Rs160-200 per kg.
Arum was further reduced by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs230-240 per kg, sold at Rs400 per kg.
Ladyfinger reduced by Rs30 per kg, fixed at Rs145-150 per kg, sold at Rs180-200 per kg.
Turnip was further gained by Rs27 per kg, fixed at Rs67-70 per kg, sold at Rs150-180 per kg.
Fenugreek (Methi) reduced by Rs25 per kg, fixed at Rs95-100 per kg, sold at Rs300 per kg.
Beetroot was sold at Rs300-320 per kg.
Coriander was sold at Rs30 per bundle.
Radish was fixed at Rs18-20 per kg, sold at Rs100 per kg.
Sweet Pumpkin was unchanged at Rs28-30 per kg, sold at Rs80 per kg.
Mangoes unripe was increased by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs47-50 per kg, sold at Rs100 per kg.
Beans was fixed at Rs100-160 per kg, sold at Rs200-400 per kg.
The price of different variety of apples reduced by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs55-290 per kg, sold at Rs200-500 per kg.
The price of Banana A-category further gained by Rs10 per doze, fixed at Rs150-155 per dozen, sold at Rs250 per dozen, and B-category fixed at Rs100-105 per dozen, sold at Rs150-180 per dozen, and C-category fixed at Rs57-60 per dozen, sold at Rs130 per dozen.
Pomegranate khandahri further gained by Rs130 per kg, fixed at Rs660-680 per kg, sold at Rs1000 per kg.
Strawberry was reduced by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs66-120 per kg, sold at Rs400 per kg.
Melon was gained by Rs15 per kg, fixed at Rs45-80 per kg, sold at Rs100-120 per kg, melon round fixed at Rs34-37 per kg, sold at Rs80-120 per kg.
Grapes tofi was reduced by Rs60 per kg, fixed at Rs240-250 per kg, sold at Rs350-400 per kg, Grapes Sunderkhani gained by Rs100 per kg, was fixed at Rs420-440 per kg, sold at Rs800 per kg.
Lokat local reduced by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs140-145 per kg, fixed at Rs250-300 per kg, lokat farm was gained by Rs15 per kg, fixed at Rs105-110 per kg, sold at Rs150-180 per kg.
Watermelon was further reduced by Rs4 per kg, fixed at Rs24-26 per kg, sold at Rs50-70 per kg.
Peach was gained by Rs20 per kg, fixed at Rs115-165 per kg, sold at Rs150-250 per kg.
Phalsa was further gained by Rs20 per kg, fixed at Rs260-270 per kg, sold at Rs400 per kg.
Grama was gained by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs76-80 per kg, sold at Rs120-140 per kg,
Apricot yellow was unchanged at Rs130-135 per kg, sold at Rs200-250 per kg.
Mangoes of different variety was fixed at Rs105-165 per kg, sold at Rs150-350 per kg.
