Shah Rukh Khan hospitalised due to heatstroke

NEW DELHI: Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan was hospitalised due to heatstroke on Thursday afternoon, PTI reported.

The superstar was admitted to the K D Hospital in Ahmedabad. The multi-speciality hospital has not yet issued a statement about Khan’s health condition.

Khan was in Ahmedabad on Tuesday to attend an Indian Premier League (IPL) match between his Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and the Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Narendra Modi Stadium.

“Khan is still undergoing treatment at the hospital. He may get discharged today,” Ahmedabad (Rural) Superintendent of Police Om Prakash Jat said, per the Indian Express.

Khan’s manager Pooja Dadlani shared an update with the star’s fans on Thursday afternoon. In an Instagram Story, she thanked all of Khan’s well-wishers, writing, “To all of Khan’s fans and well-wishers — he’s doing well. Thank you for your love, prayers and concern.”

Several parts of Gujarat have been affected by a severe heatwave. As per the India Meteorological Department (IMD), there was a heatwave in Ahmedabad on Tuesday and Wednesday with the maximum recorded temperatures being 45.2 and 45.9 degrees Celsius respectively.

Videos shared by the official X account of KKR showed Khan celebrating his team’s victory with a lap of honour, alongside his children Suhana Khan and AbRam Khan. The actor also greeted fans and players at the stadium.
