Bangladesh's batting was stifled by the economical bowling of Steven Taylor. Litton Das and Captain Najmul Hossain Shanto scored 14 off 15 balls and 3 off 11 balls respectively. Soumya Sarkar hit a quick 20 off 13 balls, but couldn't capitalise on his start. With Shakib's early dismissal at a meagre 6, Bangladesh found themselves in a precarious position at 68-4.
However, a partnership between Mahmudullah Riyad and Towhid Hridoy offered a glimmer of hope. They put up a 67-run stand in just 47 balls. Hridoy remained steady to score a crucial fifty. Their efforts helped Bangladesh post a respectable total of 153.
Starting their innings, the USA's response was strong. Despite Steven Taylor struggling to maintain his early momentum, Andries Gous scored a quick 33 off 18 balls. The real game-changer, however, was the partnership between Harmeet Singh and Corey Anderson in the final overs. They needed 56 runs from the last four overs. Anderson's 34 off 25 balls, coupled with Singh's explosive 33 off 13 balls, got the USA to reach their target.
