ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Electric Supply Company (Iesco) tops in terms of performance among electricity distribution companies in Pakistan. The Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO) suffers the highest losses. According to the data of Pesco up to March 2024, it faces 35.1 percent line losses (theft and technical fault). The Islamabad Electric Supply Supply Company has the lowest 5.2pc losses in the line losses category.
The Faisalabad Electric Supply Company’s line losses are reported to be 5.9pc. The line losses of Gujranwala Electric Power Supply Company have been recorded at 6.3 percent while the line losses of the Multan Electric Supply Company stand at 11.9 percent.
Line losses of the Lahore Electric Supply Company are 8.7pc. After 35 percent losses of Pesco, Sindh’s Sukkur Electric Supply Company has the highest line losses, at 32.2 percent. Line losses of the Quetta Electric Supply Company are 25.6pc while the Hyderabad Electric Supply Company’s line losses have been reported at 24pc.
Thus, line losses of companies of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh Balochistan have started ranging from 24pc to 35pc. According to the data of the Ministry of Energy for March 2024, the recovery of Iesco is 100pc while it is 92pc for Gepco, 90pc for Fesco, 86.4pc for Mepco, 83.72pc for Lesco, 80pc for Sepco, 79pc each for Qesco and Hesco.
