Elton John has recently been disregarded by Disney after he’s not included in the upcoming prequel, Musafa: The Lion King.
A source spilled to the National Enquirer, “After gifting the studio with such timeless classics as Can You Feel the Love Tonight and Circle of Life, Elton has been blindsided by this egregious snub.”
“To have his legacy disregarded in such a manner is a bitter pill to swallow. He feels hurt and disillusioned by Disney's actions!” revealed an insider.
The outlet reported that the details remained unclear on why Elton was not included in the prequel adaptation, which is going to hit theatres in December 2024.
Directed by Barry Jenkins, the forthcoming adaptation will feature photorealistic animations of the beloved children's movie characters.
Strangely enough, Elton brought Disney+ its first-ever livestream performance, Elton John Live: Farewell From Dodger Stadium in November 2023.
Elton, who served as executive producer of the show, was streamed globally and earned three nominations at the 2024 Emmy Awards.
For the unversed, Elton was involved in 1994's The Lion King which led him to three Academy Awards nominations for Hakuna Matata, Circle of Life and Can You Feel the Love Tonight, the latter resulting in a win.
Dishing out possible reason, RadarOnline reported that music composer’s husband, David Furnish, wanted singer to support his movie production career now that Elton’s farewell tour had ended.
