Every year, a large number of young people leave Pakistan for a better future in some foreign country and the number has kept increasing with each passing year. This is what is referred to as brain drain. In my opinion, the government actually encourages brain drain as a larger chunk of our revenue comes from foreign remittances. The government obviously does not want to let this money go and it is an easier way to earn as compared to actually creating opportunities at home.
Instead, our leaders should think of ways to channel young peoples’ energy for the greater good by creating opportunities and encouraging small businesses to grow and equipping young people with the proper technical skills and education to flourish in their respective fields.
