She disclosed about the type of cancer she is diagnosed with, luminal B, needs to suppress the production of hormones and for that she was put in a medically induced menopause that results in zero interactions with her two-year-old.

“The hormone suppression therapy is brutal and it gave me next level debilitating exhaustion,” she recalled to GMA. “I was just in bed all day long, all day long, and my quality of life was so minimal and I wasn’t able to be there for my baby.”

“Whenever Malcolm would come into the home he’d run straight to my bed because that's where he knows I am, like that’s what he associated with me,” she continued. “And that was just too difficult for me to take. I had to find out if there was another option.”

The New Girl alum shares her son Malcolm with partner John Mulaney.

Elsewhere in the interview, the X-Men: Apocalypse star told Strahan that she did ask the doctor to try any other drug to suppress cancer producing hormones in other parts of the body.

“It’s so tiring,” she said. “These drugs are so tiring, and I know I’m gonna stay aggressive. I know I’m going to do it. I’m just surprised that I’m even asking for anything less than aggressive because, I mean as you know, it just feels nonstop because it is nonstop.”

For the unversed, Munn was diagnosed with bilateral breast cancer in April 2023.
