NAB spent over Rs28bn in last five years, NA told

ISLAMABAD: A report submitted to the National Assembly informed that the National Accountability Bureau has incurred an expenditure of over Rs28.208 billion in the last five years on the office as well as on the operational functions.

Through a report, the Ministry of Law and Justice also informed the National Assembly of the total number of cases dealt with by the NAB during the last five years i.e. from January 2019 to December 2023 including a backlog of the preceding years. According to the report, in the last five years, the NAB has received/authorised 152,201 complaints out of which 149,501 were decided/disposed of, 4,451 complaint verifications received/authorised and 3,818 were decided/disposed of, 2,834 inquiries received/authorized and 1,929 were decided/disposed of and 945 Investigations were received/authorised and 695 were decided/disposed of. It stated that the total expenditure incurred on the office as well as on operational functions for the last five years was Rs 28.208 billion.
