Army win National Clay Shooting Championship

KARACHI: Army won the 10th National Clay Shooting Championship at Garrison Shooting Club in Lahore on Monday.

Army claimed five gold, one silver, and one bronze medal to take first position while Navy with one gold, four silver, and two bronze medals stood second. Pakistan Air Force grabbed one silver and two bronze medals for the third position and Sindh with one bronze medal took fourth position.

On the final day of the championship, Army’s Amir Iqbal scored 130/150 to win gold medal in the individual category of Double Trap event. Navy’s Owais scored 124/150 to claim silver medal and PAF’s Mehdi Khan scored 124/150 for bronze medal.

In the team category of the said event, Army scored 350/450 to win gold medal and Navy scored 349/450 for silver medal while PAF scored 335/450 to take bronze medal. In the final of the individual category of skeet event, Navy’s M Asif scored 57/60 to break the previous national record of 56/60 and grabbed gold medal. Army’s Usman Chand scored 52/60 while Navy’s Abdul Sattar Satti scored 42/50 to take silver and bronze medals, respectively.

In the team category of the said event, Army scored 353/375 to take gold medal and Navy scored 331/375 for silver medal while Sindh scored 301/375 to claim bronze medal. In the team category of Trap event, Army scored 338/375 for gold medal and PAF scored 313/375 to take silver medal while Navy scored 311/375 to claim bronze medal.
