ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has directed the deputy commissioner, Islamabad to call the Naanbai association to his office and determine the prices of ‘Roti’ and ‘Nan’ in consultation with them and submit the report about this meeting to the court within three days.
IHC’s Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri issued a written order on the plea of Sajjad Ali, President of Naanbai Association, asking the deputy commissioner, Islamabad to immediately de-seal all the sealed Tandoors and release those arrested for selling ‘Roti’ and ‘Nan’ at high prices.
In a written order, the court said that the Naanbai leaders should be summoned to the deputy commissioner’s office to determine the prices of bread. The district administration’s notification of 26th April regarding the price of bread will remain in force and all the Naanbais along with the petitioner would comply with it.
The written order stated that according to the petitioner, the management did not consult the Naanbai association while fixing the price of bread, but now it has agreed to the consultation. Deputy commissioner, Islamabad, would invite the naanbai association to his office for consultation at 12 noon on Saturday and the report of the meeting would be submitted to the court within 3 days.
