ISLAMABAD: The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) has issued a directive to distribution companies (Discos), including K-Electric, regarding the issue of loadshedding during exam sessions, citing concerns over disruptions faced by students.

The directive highlighted the adverse impact of loadshedding on students’ performance during exams. Nepra emphasised the critical importance of uninterrupted power supply during exam sessions, noting that any disruption could significantly affect students’ concentration and academic achievements.

“Though Discos are bound to supply continuous electric power to their eligible consumers, it is more important to recognise the critical importance of uninterrupted power supply during exam sessions,” Nepra said. It warned Discos that failure to adhere to the directive may lead to further regulatory action.
