“It is time to put all our preparations into practice and make the best use of the hard work and camp training these players have gone through.” The head coach speaking to the media ahead of start of the series said that the management was well aware of the combination they would carry forward.

“We know well who our openers are, who top batsmen are, and where we have to work extra. Power Play is important and so are our middle overs.” He praised his top bowlers as attaining a rhythm, required for big matches.

“Shaheen Shah, Naseem Shah, and Haris Rauf look good. They have attained a rhythm that is required for international cricket. What we want is improvement with each passing day and by each passing match so that everyone would be in top rhythm going into the World Cup.”

Azhar rated Ireland as a strong opponent in their backyard. “They have a good record at home and have the experience of playing County cricket. These Irish cricketers are well-versed in the available conditions. So we cannot take them lightly. Yet I want to exploit our strength and make the best use of available resources.

“Today‘s session was more a top-up session with every cricketer completing his preparations for the coming matches. I am glad that all components of the team are ready to deliver,” Azhar said.
