Senior judge Mohsin Akhtar Kayani in his letter to IHC Chief Justice Aamir Farooq requested him to start contempt of court proceedings against the persons involved in campaign against him on social media.

Earlier, Justice Babar Sattar had written a letter to IHC Chief Justice to take contempt of court action against those running campaign against him on social media. It was decided the letter would be converted into contempt of court case and action would be taken.

Sources said a bench will be formed Wednesday (today) based on the letters of two judges. It is likely contempt of court notices will be issued over negative propaganda against the two judges on social media. A campaign was launched on social media regarding American citizenship of Justice Babar Sattar. The IHC denied Justice Babar Sattar have citizenship of any country other than Pakistan. A defamatory and baseless campaign is being run against Justice Babar Sattar on the social media, the court said.
