This week You! takes a look at some of the hair, makeup and jewellery trends that the celebs sported at the red carpet of the recently held awards...
Sanam Jung sporting centre parting with straight hair
we all know that the red carpet of any event especially any award function is one of the most entertaining aspects where we get to know all about who’s wearing who and what. Who made the fashion bloopers and who managed to stand out? So, basically, it is the red carpet that decides who sizzled and who fizzled.
Wondering what we are talking about? Well, the recently held, 4th instalment of Awards of a private channel, was a grand affair as it gave us brilliant ideas on styles trending these days. The crème de la crème of showbiz and fashion industries had flocked out in great numbers to be a part of the awards.

From frocks to fishtail gowns, sexy saris to anghrakhas it was like a treasure trove of designer wear on the red carpet. And to complement the majestic attire, models, actors and fashionistas could be seen decked up to the nines with beautifully coiffed hair, stunning make-up by Nabila Salon and breath-taking gems and jewels by Nazneen Tariq’s Heavenly Regalia.
“This was my second time with the awards and it was a fabulous experience,” says Nazneen Tariq, who was the official jewellery partner of the awards. “I feel my jewellery is versatile and it complements all styles and designs. Be it a modern attire or traditional wear my formal pieces complement each look. This year I loved putting my pieces on Sunita Marshal, Sanam Jung, Nadia Hussain, Samina Peerzada, Samina Ahmed, Sohai Ali Abro, Sarah Gilani, Sarah Khan, Noor, Komal Aziz, Rubya Chaudhry and Resham to name a few,” she shares.
As for the hair trends witnessed at the awards, they were straight out of the ‘60s and ‘70s - vintage treasures with soft curls, waves, knots and straight hair which was teamed with ?dark lipstick and a play with peach tones with a change in the way we do glitter. Starting with the hair, the expert team at Nabila salon had followed the tip of going along with the natural style of a particular celebrity.
So, if there were waves those were subtly enhanced. The dreamy waves were pretty simple yet stunning as in the case of Aisha Khan who was a picture of perfection with loose soft waves, peachy lips and cheeks with light gold-bronze eyes resplendent in an Ali Xeeshan flowing, embellished gown.
And if straight was the style then that remained order of the day. For instance Rubya Chaudhry, also the red carpet host, wore a white sultry Adnan Pardesi sari. Her hair was absolutely straight while her dark plum pout was complemented with bronze eyes.

Sanam Jung too had a middle parting with dead-straight hair snaking down her back. She seemed to have stepped straight out of the sixties with her perfect hair, scarlet lips and gold/bronze eyes. It was all about natural textures beautified with the various styling tools and products but retaining their originality.
The ponytail took a back seat this time around and Nabila preferred the knot as one can play around with the various twists of a knot. The stylist had twisted hair strands alternating these with soft loops, which were at times messy. One also saw sleek chignons and then the sharply pulled back hair juxtaposed with loose flowing hair at the back. Braids too were used in some instances with a bent towards French braids which either continued on in a knot at the nape or in some case was gently pulled back with soft curls snaking down the back. Sohai Ali Abro for instance had a middle parting with hair gently pulled back in a French braid on either side which was loosely tied at the back with hair let loose as soft curls.

The strong precise side parting like that of stalwart Mahira Khan was also a welcome trend. Actor Noor too sported the same style. With nude gold eyes and soft pale lips her hair was pulled on one side. While Samina Peerzada looked stunning in an embellished tunic and pants with her hair swept towards one side ending in a bun at the nape.

In short it was a mega dose of glitz and glam at the awards. The event is certainly getting bigger and better with every passing year.
