Since the initiation of a case by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) against certain officials of the CDA in February 2022, construction work on service roads within Sector I-12 was brought to a halt. The case, centred on alleged irregularities in development works, has left over 6,000 allottees in a state of limbo, with their dreams of homeownership suspended indefinitely.

The lack of progress in the sector's development has resulted in unfulfilled dreams and growing impatience among its allottees. Sadly, some have passed away before seeing their aspirations come to fruition, leaving behind a legacy of unrealized dreams. Khumar Gul, representing the concerns of many allottees, has expressed optimism in Interior Minister Mohsin Raza Naqvi's ability to address the issue effectively.

Citing his reputation for efficient governance and decisive action during his tenure in the Punjab Government as chief minister, he said that the allottees were hopeful that Naqvi would intervene to expedite the resolution of this pressing issue by navigating the bureaucratic maze to facilitate the resumption of construction activities, particularly the crucial service roads necessary for sector development.

Highlighting the dire situation faced by financially constrained allottees, Aftab Ujjan underscored the critical importance of expediting construction efforts. He stated that many allottees invested their hard-earned money in acquiring plots within Sector I-12 to build their dream homes. However, they have been met with extended delays, leading to shattered hopes of achieving house ownership.

Aftab Ujjan stressed that the construction of service roads is essential to pave the way for rapid development of the sector and alleviate the plight of these eager allottees. Sector I-12, launched over three decades ago, has languished in a state of insufficient progress, much to the frustration and dismay of its allottees.
