FIA seizes record in raid on PCB office

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) raided office of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) late night on Monday and took with them records and a few officials directly dealing with sale of tickets during the New Zealand-Pakistan T20 series.

There have been some serious complaints on the sale, purchase of tickets during the series. “A lady PCB official directly dealing with ticketing was also questioned at the FIA offices. There are some other top officials who have been working for years now at the PCB offices who are under investigation for ticketing as well as some other scams,” an insider told ‘The News’.

He confirmed that following a series of complaints, the ‘Interior Ministry’ has ordered an investigation into these scams. “In days to come, the PCB’s administration is likely to be given a fresh look in wake of the outcome of these scams.” The source added that the first notice was served last week following which raid was conducted.
