IMCL announces plant closure

KARACHI: Indus Motor Company Limited (IMCL) announced on Tuesday that it would close its production plant for seven days due to ongoing supply chain disruptions.

"Given the current low level of inventory of manufactured vehicles, and the shortage of parts and components for vehicle manufacturing due to supply chain challenges, the company has decided to close its production plant from 2nd May 2024 to 8th May 2024," the company said in a statement to the Pakistan Stock Exchange.

The company previously closed its plant for six days in March for similar reasons.Pakistan's automakers are facing difficulties due to rising prices and shortages of raw materials. Other companies, such as Pak Suzuki Motors and Honda Cars, have also encountered similar situations, leading to several production facility shutdowns.
