LAHORE: In response to the Pakistan women’s cricket team’s lackluster showing against the West Indies Women, resulting in a 3-0 defeat in the three-ODI series, Mohsin Naqvi, Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), has taken decisive action by reconstituting the national women’s selection committee.

The committee has been expanded to include seven members in a bid to inject fresh perspectives and expertise into the selection process.

Among the retained members from the previous panel are Asmavia Iqbal and Marina Iqbal. They are joined by seasoned cricketing figures such as Abdul Razzaq and Asad Shafiq, both esteemed members of the men’s national selection committee, along with former international player Batool Fatima. In alignment with the structure of the men’s national selection committee, the coach and captain of the women’s team will also be integral members of this reconstituted body. The immediate focus of the newly formed selection committee will be to meticulously select the Pakistan women’s team for the upcoming tour of England.
