ISLAMABAD: The members of National Assembly, who were elected in the by-election on Sunday (April 21), will take oath of the membership during the current session of the National Assembly.

Well-placed sources told The News here Tuesday that the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) will issue the notification of members of the National Assembly and provincial assemblies by end of the week.

Interestingly, none of the defeated candidates and parties have approached the ECP against the process of election and no petition has been filed against the notification.

It is understood that the defeated candidates have accepted their defeat in the by-polls.

The sources reminded that with the swearing-in of new members, the position of the ruling Pakistan Muslim League would be strengthened in the respective houses.
