Pakistan experienced severe floods due to abnormal rainfall this month. The disaster has, thus far, resulted in the death of over 60 people, with many more injured, and thousands of homes destroyed. The provinces of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, and Punjab were severely affected, with significant damage to infrastructure and agriculture.
The focus now is on helping and healing those affected. In the long term, this disaster highlights the urgent need to strengthen disaster preparedness and climate change strategies. By doing so, Pakistan will be better equipped to deal with such issues in the future and become stronger.
