The mention of the appointment of a new IG Police in Islamabad was made during the hearing of a case pertaining to the death of a citizen in a road accident on Thursday in IHC.

Upon it, the IHC sought a report from the government within two weeks in connection with the appointment of IG Islamabad.

Chief Justice (CJ) IHC Aamir Farooq, while addressing the Deputy Attorney General (DAG), remarked why the new IG has not been appointed so far. “Generally, there is no one to care about Islamabad. Appoint anyone IG. The previous IG should have been allowed to stay till the arrival of new officer or abolish police, then calm and peace will come. Or what is going on in Balochistan will happen here,” he said. The Deputy Attorney General told the court one notification was issued for the appointment of the new IG. CJ IHC Aamir Farooq remarked the notification was issued but it was known to him why IG was not coming. The court ordered to file a report about the appointment of IG within two weeks.
