Henry Cavill recently offered insight into his chance of becoming the next James Bond, based on the character created by Ian Fleming.
While promoting The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, his latest collaboration on The Rich Eisen Show, Cavill was asked if there’s any chance he will take on the said role in the announced Bond 26.
He didn’t go on to shut the door on the possibility, commenting: "I have no idea. All I've got to go off is the rumors. The same information you have. Maybe I'm too old now, maybe I'm not. It's up to Barbara Broccoli and Mike Wilson and we'll see what their plans are."
Meanwhile, the host quickly chimed in, asking: "Well, I mean, you're playing the guy Bond is based on."
To which Cavill responded, noting: "Yeah, it seems like a good first step right?"
Before Daniel Craig took on the role in 2006, Cavill was among the cohort of actors who made it to the final stages for the role.
However, the producers decided to sign Craig for the role since Cavill was only 22 at the time.
While there hasn’t been any official announcement about the casting, it was reported in March that Aaron Taylor-johnson is set to play Bond in the upcoming installment.
