LAHORE: A significant meeting was convened between Punjab Home Secretary Noorul Amin Mengal and a delegation led by American Consul General Kristen K. Hawkins, shedding light on crucial aspects of law enforcement and social welfare.
During the session, Home Secretary Mengal provided insights into the performance of key agencies such as the Forensic Science Agency, PAFDA, and affiliated bodies. He also outlined measures aimed at improving conditions for prisoners in jails, as well as enhancing the probation and parole systems.
The Special Secretary of the Home Department, Fazaul Rehman, gave a detailed briefing on the registration procedures within the Punjab Charity Commission, showcasing the government’s commitment to transparency and accountability in charitable activities.
The commendable work of the Child Protection Bureau, operating under the Punjab Home Department, received appreciation from Consul General Hawkins, who hailed it as the premier institution for assisting destitute children.
Discussions also revolved around enhancing cooperation with the Forensic Science Agency, particularly in the realms of crime scene investigation and the integration of modern technologies within PFDA.
