LAHORE: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has emphasised the importance of finding the “best possible window” for the next edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

Naqvi stated that discussions will soon be held with all relevant stakeholders to ensure that PSL 10 is scheduled in a manner that it does not clash with international commitments.

“PSL is Pakistan’s brand, which is why it will receive its due importance. Holding PSL 10 alongside international commitments will be a challenge, but we are ready for it,” Naqvi told a group of reporters.

According to sources, there is a possibility of PSL 10 coinciding with the Indian Premier League (IPL) next year. The PCB is currently considering three potential windows for PSL 2025, with the April-May window overlapping with the IPL being the most favourable option. The PCB is weighing the advantages and disadvantages of holding the league concurrently with the IPL.

Another option under consideration is a three-week window in February, as March is not feasible due to the ICC Champions Trophy, which Pakistan will host. However, this window may conflict with an ODI triangular series involving New Zealand and South Africa.

The third window being considered is around the Asia Cup in September 2025. Further discussions regarding the scheduling of PSL next year will take place at the upcoming council meeting.
