ISLAMABAD: The Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry's (FPCCI) Central Standing Committee on Petroleum Products and Dealers convened its second meeting, chaired by Abdul Sami Khan, to address the challenges faced by petroleum dealers nationwide, a statement said on Tuesday.
The committee meeting was attended by petroleum dealers from all over Pakistan.The committee’s convener emphasized that due to smuggling of petrol from neighbouring country, the dealers are facing a lot of losses. Due to non-cooperation from government agencies, the volume of smuggling products is increasing day by day, causing a loss of more than $2 billion per year to the national exchequer.
Furthermore, OMCs are also not cooperating with the dealers which is causing great damage to the business on account of club cards expense and non-implementation of imposition of required fee as instructed by State Bank.
As per the requirement, different committees were formed to address the grievances of the dealers including smuggling, local and nation issues with respective local governments, explosives department and NHA.
