Sindh is suffering from a significant shortage of teachers, instructors, lecturers and professors in all educational institutions - schools, colleges, and varsities - and a lack of other key resources in the education sector. The situation is particularly bad in the rural districts. Last week, the provincial government lifted the ban on recruitment in government. This is a commendable step and it is hoped that it will help ease, if not solve, the shortages in the education sector.
