Rupee ends flat against dollar

KARACHI: The rupee was little changed on Tuesday as remittances and exporter sales helped offset importer demand.

In the interbank market, the rupee closed at 277.94 against the dollar, barely changed from its close at 277.95 on Monday.The rupee gained 21 paisas against the dollar in the interbank market. It was trading at 279.37 versus the greenback, compared with 279.58 in the previous session.

“We observed dollar demand from importers to satisfy their commitments on the final business day before the Eidul Fitr holidays. Nonetheless, healthy supply from remittances and dollar sales by exporters kept the rupee stable against the greenback,” a currency dealer said.
