Winning in KP

The PTI has been in power in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for over a decade now but there has been little to no progress. Infrastructure remains stagnant and the bureaucratic and law enforcement cultures show no signs of improvement. Despite this, the PTI effortlessly secured a sweeping victory in KP in this year’s elections. It raises questions as to why other political entities, notably the PML-N, have ceded ground to the PTI in the province. The PML-N must refocus its attention on this strife-ridden and underdeveloped province by embracing fresh faces within its ranks. Punjab, where the PML-N’s entrenched familial ties give it an edge, presents a distinct contrast to KP which is devoid of any Sharif presence. The infusion of youthful energy is imperative for steering the party and provincial administration, particularly if voters lean towards the PML-N. Relying solely on figures like Amir Muqam to rally public support in the province is merely wishful thinking.
