ISLAMABAD: Pakistan football team dropped one more place in the FIFA rankings following the pathetic show in the World Cup 2026 qualifying round against Jordan and Tajikistan teams.

The new rankings list saw Pakistan dropping to 196, relegation of one place following 20 goals it conceded so far in the Qualifying round against only one the team has managed to score.

Despite inclusion of foreign players, Pakistan have been struggling to match the best around and even have failed to retain their previous rankings. The team has virtually become a punching bag for other teams in the Group G of the qualifying round.

Afghanistan team that defeated India 2-1 in the qualifiers recently has improved their rankings to No 151 -- a jump of seven places while India dropped four places to be No 121 on the 210-team rankings list.
