PESHAWAR: The dispute between Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the federal governments on the appointment of the Chief Secretary persists.
The federal government has not appointed the KP chief secretary even after two weeks, sources told Geo News.
Sources said KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur had recommended Shahab Ali Shah to be appointed as chief secretary while the federal government had sought a panel of three officers from the provincial government. The provincial government recommended the names of Shahab Ali Shah, Dr Shehzad Bangash and Munir Azam.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Adviser Barrister Mohammad Ali Saif told Geo News the federal government is committing a wrong by not accepting the KP government’s demand on the appointment. He said the province is facing administrative problems due to non-appointment of officers.
He said that by ignoring KP government’s cooperation, the federal government would create more complications.
Federal Minister for Economic Affairs Ahad Cheema said told Geo News the government is considering the issue and would appoint the chief secretary soon.
