KARACHI: Qasmi Gymkhana recorded a convincing seven-wicket triumph over Sun Cricket Club in their match of the KCCA Zone VI Daud Khan Memorial Cricket Tournament here at the Sakhi Hassan Gymkhana Ground.
Sun CC were bundled out for 218 runs in 33.5 overs. Deedar Shah (54) batted well for the side. Abid Qasmi and Imran Ali captured three wickets each, while Javed Kohistani took two wickets.
Qasmi Gymkhana reached the target comfortably in 22.2 overs with seven wickets remaining. Javed played an unbeaten 55-run knock. Abdul Rehman made 42.
In another match, played at the KCCA Stadium, Pakistan Cricket Club blanked Paposh Nagar Cricket Club by ten wickets.
Paposh Nagar were all out for a paltry 77 runs in 19.3 overs. Junaid Ilyas displayed lethal bowling show and grabbed a six-wicket haul.
Pakistan CC chased down the target easily in 8.1 overs. Openers Muhammad Afzal (45 not out) and Javed Mansoor (35 not out) batted well.
In the last match of the day, Metropolitan Cricket Club recorded a formidable 128-run win against Taimuria Sports at Afza Cricket Ground. Fahaddis Bukhari produced a scintillating 91-run innings. Usman Shah grabbed four wickets for the winners.
