Song Jong Ki, the leading man of My Name Loh Kiwan, has come full circle after initially rejecting the role to now encouraging fans to give the film another chance to understand its narrative depth.
In a recent interview published by Soompi on Wednesday, the Descendants of the Sun star addressed mixed reviews his new Netflix film received, particularly regarding its romantic elements.
"I completely understand. I initially rejected the role for that reason," he confessed, acknowledging his initial hesitation towards the romance-drama storyline.
"However, after a while, even I was able to relate to the work and enter its story despite my shortcomings," the South Korean actor continued, "A movie is not a disposable cup that you throw away after watching it once."
"Even if you don’t find it interesting and can’t relate to it now, you may change your mind again as time goes by," he emphasised.
The 38-year-old went on to request the audience to approach the film with an open mind, recognising that opinions may evolve with time.
"If opinions don’t change even after time has passed, that’s something I can’t control. It’s not something I can force," he added.
