ISLAMABAD: The Embassy of Pakistan in Prague hosted a webinar to promote IT cooperation between Pakistan and the Czech Republic, attracting more than 50 companies from both countries.

The webinar, titled “IT Landscape of Pakistan”, featured presentations by Pakistani and Czech officials and business leaders, highlighting the opportunities and challenges in the IT sector. Pakistan’s Ambassador to the Czech Republic, Ayesha Ali, said Pakistan had a vibrant IT outsourcing industry, offering cost-effective solutions in software development, digital marketing, and customer support.

She also said Pakistan had a growing startup ecosystem, driving innovation and entrepreneurship in areas such as e-commerce, fintech, and health tech. “Pakistan has become a preferred destination for IT outsourcing services,” she said, adding that the Czech Republic was renowned for its advanced IT infrastructure, research and development capabilities, and expertise in areas such as cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and data analytics.

“By leveraging their respective strengths, Pakistan and the Czech Republic can explore opportunities for collaboration in several key areas,” she said. From the Czech side, presentations were delivered by Miroslav Hazer, Director of External Relations at the Czech Confederation of Industries, Eva Rybkova, Chairperson of the Czech Pakistan Business Council at the Czech Chambers of Commerce, and Ahsan Aslam, President of the Czech-Pakistan Chambers of Commerce.

The dominant theme of these presentations was to introduce the economic opportunities in the Czech Republic and the local regulations for doing business there. The webinar aimed to showcase Pakistan’s IT potential to the central and Eastern European markets, in particular the Czech Republic, while ensuring significant business-to-business engagement between interested companies.
